Merrielou, I love that! That's exactly what I'm talking about... the BIG moment for someone whom we could have overlooked... it's so fun. We saw that show too, and my favorite actor was one of the kids, Benjamin Pajak.
I have always looked for the person in the room who seems ill at ease. My best story about understudies -- Frances and I love Broadway Musicals and for Christmas in 2019, she gave me tickets for us to see Hugh Jackman in "The Music Man". I was thrilled! Well, Covid came along and for 15 months our family came together to nurse Ned who, as you know, we lost in May of 2021. The show was closed for a year or so and Frances dutifully kept checking back to see if our tickets would be extended. Finally, in the spring of 2022, we go to NYC and are seated and learn Hugh Jackman has Covid! His understudy was everything and more you describe! Sested a few rows in front of us is a young woman who is enthusiastically clapping every time the man comes onstage. We asked her at intermission if she was related to the star -- his little sister!!! This made our pleasure in being there with the understudy doubly fun.
